North Kitsap Babe Ruth team wins district title | Sports brief

The North Kitsap Babe Ruth 13-year-old team won the District 4 championship Sunday in Sequim after defeating Port Angeles 11-1. The team will advance to the state Babe Ruth tournament in Ellensburg July 21 as the number one seed in their division. Port Angeles and Central Kitsap will also advance to the state tournament.

The North Kitsap 15-year-old team placed second at the District 4 tournament in Port Angeles after losing the title game to Central Kitsap, 8-2. Both teams will advance to the state tournament, along with Port Angeles. The 15-year-old state tournament begins July 21 in Kent.
