Kingston's Marina Roberts places second in 3,200 meters

Kingston High sophomore Marina Roberts placed second in the 3,200 meters Thursday at the Class 2A state high school track and field championships in Tacoma. Roberts finished the two-mile race in 11 minutes, 13.23 seconds. Allison Cutting of Sequim High won first place in the race, finishing in 11:04.52.

In the 3A division, North Kitsap High senior Annelise Weinmann placed ninth in the 3,200 meters, with a time of 11:21.92. North Kitsap’s Tabor Reedy took 15th in the boys 3,200 meters, with a time of 9:37.85. North’s Taylor Ottomano was 12th in the girls high jump, with a height of 5 feet even.

The state track and field championships continue today and Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
