Kingston adds three alternates to state tourney roster

Kingston High golfers Joe Stange, Dalton Ekler and Kyla Miedema will compete at the Class 2A state golf championships as alternates. They will join teammates Elle Sander and Sam Fox at the state tournament May 24 and 25 at Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima. Stange, Ekler and Miedema qualified as alternates to state after placing in the top 10 at the West Central District tournament Monday at Fort Lewis. Sander and Fox qualified for state after placing second at the Olympic League championships May 11 in Sequim.

TENNIS

North Kitsap duo out at districts

North Kitsap High tennis players Kelsey Grunigen and Bryana Bohl competed at the West Central District tournament Tuesday and Thursday at Harry Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma. The two fell to Union High’s Christina Le and Megan Carter Tuesday and were eliminated Thursday after losing to White River’s Courtney Hall and Haley Havelock.
