North Kitsap boys held to a tie

The North Kitsap High boys soccer team recorded its first tie of the season Thursday at home against Olympic High. North Kitsap (11-0-1 overall) outshot the Trojans, 30-2, but could not find the net. The game ended 0-0. The Vikings host Bainbridge High at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Kingston clubs Port Townsend

Four different Kingston High soccer players scored as the Buccaneers shut out Port Townsend High Thursday, 4-0. The Bucs improved to 10-1-2 overall with the win. Their next game is May 4, at North Mason High in Belfair. Kickoff is at 6:45 p.m.

First half: 1, Kin, Edgar Hernandez (Brian Bain), 38th.

Second half: 2, Kin, Hank Veenstra (Diego Portillo), 52nd. 3, Kin, Nick Boles, 64th. 4, Kin, Spencer Miele (Riley Anderson), 75th.

The North Kitsap High girls tennis team defeated Port Angeles Thursday, 4-3. The team’s next match is at 4 p.m. May 6, at Bremerton High.

Kingston shuts out North Mason

The Kingston High girls tennis team defeated North Mason Thursday, 7-0. The team has not lost a match this season. Kingston’s next match is May 4 at Sequim High School.

Singles: Corinne Sudduth (K) def. Anne Gower (NM) 6-3, 6-1. Stephanie Fyfe (K) def. Misha Orchard (NM) 6-1, 6-1. Anna Rushmer (K) def. Tiffany Nelson (NM) 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles: Olivia Guevara/Lindsey Wicklein (K) def. Holly Bean/Emma Urdahl (NM) 6-0, 6-0. Maddi Miller/Ericka Daniels (K) def. Ashley Rowland/Lacey Schauberger (NM) 6-0, 6-1. North Kitsap girls top Klahowya meet

The North Kitsap High girls track team took first in a meet against Klahowya Secondary School and Olympic High Thursday. The North Kitsap boys took second, behind Olympic. The next meet for the North Kitsap teams is the Shelton Invitational. Events begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shelton High.

Sequim, North Mason teams win Kingston meet

Kingston High hosted a track meet Thursday with Sequim and North Mason high schools. Sequim placed first on the girls side, followed by Kingston and North Mason. North Mason won the boys events, followed by Sequim and Kingston. Kingston had three first-place finishers at the meet. Ruby Roberts won the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 15.7 seconds. Tatum Larson won the 400 meters in 1:04.82, and Jaime Schultz took first in the triple jump. A distance was not reported.

Kingston’s next meet is at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Central Kitsap High in Silverdale.
