BASKETBALL

Kingston boys romp in win over Klahowya

The Kingston High boys basketball team improved to 3-0 with an 81-49 win over Klahowya Tuesday.

The Bucs led by just 10 points at halftime, but outscored the Eagles 25-10 in the third quarter to widen the gap and march to victory. George Hill led Kingston with 24 points and four assists. Zane Ravenholt had 16 points and 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

The Bucs’ season gets tougher from here, as they travel to Port Angeles Friday and host North Mason Dec. 15.

SWIMMING

North defeats Olympic, Klahowya

The North Kitsap High boys swim team defeated Klahowya, 101-53, and Olympic High, 88-79, Tuesday in a double dual meet at the North Kitsap Pool.

North Kitsap’s Tyler Rencher qualified for the district finals in the 200-yard individual medley, with a time of 2 minutes, 21.66 seconds, and in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.98. Teammate Josh Despard qualified for districts in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.14 seconds. North Kitsap’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of Rencher, Despard, Ben Breakey and Troyce Musick also qualified for the district finals, posting a time of 3:49.33.

The West Central District III meet takes place Feb. 12-13 at Hazen High School in Renton.
