No. 3 Vikings take league title
North Kitsap took sole possession of the Olympic League girls volleyball title Tuesday, with a win over Bremerton High. The Vikings (17-2 overall, 12-0 league) completed the win in three straight sets, with scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-10.
The Vikings are the No. 3-ranked volleyball team in the state’s 3A division. They will begin postseason play at Capital High Nov. 3 in a sub-district seeding match.
“I feel like the level of competition is going to go up,” Viking Head Coach Tim French said of Capital. “So the challenge is there. They’ll probably be the best competition we’ve faced all year.”
KMS girls top league
The Kingston Middle School girls volleyball team defeated Klahowya Secondary School Oct. 22, with scores of 25-8, 25-14, 15-8 to win a share of the West Sound Middle School League championship. Kingston and Mountain View Middle School tied for the top spot in the league. Both teams finished the season with a record of 9-1.
Vikings finish undefeated
With a 5-1 win over Bremerton Tuesday, North Kitsap High School completed its first undefeated season of league play in more than a decade. Senior forward Siara Byers, the team’s leading scorer, turned in a hat trick in the win. The Vikings (11-1-2 overall, 10-0-1 league) will take on Capital High Nov. 3 in a district playoff seeding match.
NK boys, Kingston girls top league meet
The North Kitsap High School boys and Kingston High School girls cross country teams topped the Olympic League championship meet Oct. 22 in Sequim. The Kingston boys and North Kitsap girls finished second in the meet. Kingston’s Ruby Roberts placed first overall for the girls, winning her third league championship with a time of 18 minutes, 30 seconds. Roberts’ sister, Marina, came in second.
North Kitsap’s Tabor Reedy finished first overall for the boys, with a time of 15:59.

Vikings, Bucs swim past Wolves
The North Kitsap High School girls swim team defeated Sequim Oct. 22, 119-45. Kingston High defeated Sequim 83-60 at the same meet. North Kitsap took the top three spots in the 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle events.
