SOCCER

North Kitsap 2, Central Kitsap 0

The Vikings evened their record at 1-1-1 with a win at Central Kitsap Monday.

“We finally played with the intensity we’re capable of,” NK Head Coach Dee Taylor said.

North Kitsap opens league play at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Olympic High.

TENNIS

North Kitsap defeated Olympic High Monday, 6-1.

Singles: Cory Smith (Oly.) def. Zach Fohn (NK), 6-4, 6-1. Rex Olson (NK) def. John Fry (Oly.), 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. David Gerstenberger (NK) def. Anthony Jeffries (Oly.), 7-5, 6-3.

Doubles: Jordan Seth/Alex Olson (NK) def. Dylan Vaughan/Ryan Lindsay (Oly.), 6-0, 6-0. Zach Turley/Sebastian Ford (NK) def. James Harvey/Harry Furnsho (Oly.), 6-1, 6-3. Shaun McBurney/Chris Gracey (NK) def. Christian Bernett/Mitchell Brown (Oly.), 6-3, 7-5. Riley MacDonald/Steven Breitmayer (NK) def. Marvine Valerrama/Josh Shea (Oly.), 6-0, 6-4.

Kingston’s tennis match against North Mason was rained out Monday.

VOLLEYBALL

North Kitsap topped Kingston Monday in three straight sets, with scores of 25-9, 25-11, 25-4.

“I was proud of my girls for playing at a high level,” said North Kitsap Head Coach Tim French.

North’s Sarah Baugh had nine kills, 16 assists and seven aces in the match. Teammate Bryana Bohl was 15 out of 15 serving, with 3 aces. Claire Torstenbo had five kills and three blocks, and Taylor Ottomano had seven kills for the Vikings.
