POULSBO - North Kitsap senior Taylor Chisholm agreed this week to play football at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

Chisholm made the decision to sign with the Thunderbirds when the school offered a $4,000 scholarship for his freshman year.

"I was just looking at schools, and UBC said they could offer me some money," Chisholm said.

Chisholm, who played offense, defense and special teams for the Vikings last season, will likely be positioned at slot receiver and cornerback for UBC.

"I like both sides of the ball," Chisholm said.

Chisholm considered playing at other schools in the United States, but the scholarship money and opportunity to play in Canada were too good to pass up.

"If I keep on working hard and doing what I'm doing, I have a better chance of playing than I would at Division III schools here," Chisholm said.
