Sports update: Kingston baseball, fastpitch win big


Kingston shut out Port Townsend Monday, 11-0. Danny Orr led the Bucs, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, a double and three RBI. Rueben Smith also had a homer. Austin Overton took home the win for Kingston.

North Kitsap fell to Klahowya, 6-4 Monday. Andy Smith led the Vikings, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Eric Eley got the win for Klahowya. Kevin Stringer was given the loss for North.


Kingston defeated Port Townsend Monday, 18-5 in five innings. Lauren Peiguss pitched the entire game to pick up the win. Kingston was led by Lindsey Gard, who went 3-for-4, and Andrea Cetnarowski, who was 2-for-3 with a double and a triple.

North Kitsap hosted Klahowya Monday, and fell, 10-5. The Vikings started out slow, down 9-0, and came back with five straight runs, but the late streak was not enough. Kazandra Holliday got the win for Klahowya. Jenneke Oostman was given the loss for North.


Girls golf: Olympic 85, Kingston 72, Port Townsend 39, North Kitsap 14.


North Kitsap defeated Chimacum/Port Townsend, 6-1 Monday. In singles: Sarah Hanke (CH/PT) def. Meghan O'Hara 7-6, 6-1. Georgia Suter (NK) def. Tina Dietz 6-1, 6-3. Sarah Farmer (NK) def. Megan Gambill 6-2, 6-0.

Doubles: Darlene Dang/Krista Vestman (NK) def. Kianna Brown/Ashley Zorrozua 6-1, 6-0. Kelsey Grunigen/McKenna Elves (NK) def. Kassi Kilmer/Stevi Manthe 6-0, 6-0. Kerri McGinty/Megan Stickney (NK) def. Tiffany Ferell/Jessica Manly 6-0, 6-2. Kate Christianson/Bryana Bohl (NK) won by forfeit.

Kingston lost to Port Angeles, 6-1 Monday. In singles: Theresa Tucci (KHS) def. Freida Sachenhimer 6-1, 6-3. Danika Goodwin (PA) def. Austen Turner 6-0, 6-2. Alexis Corn (PA) def. Ericka Daniels 6-3, 6-0.
