The North Kitsap High School gymnastics team went to the state tournament this year for the first time, and finished in seventh place.
The team put up a score of 154.200, about one point below their goal for the competition.
"The girls did a great job," said coach Kris Goodfellow. "I am very pleased with our team score and the way they competed."
Junior Melissa Kunold was the only Kitsap gymnast to qualify for the finals as an individual, and finished ninth on beam, with a 9.2.
Vancouver's Columbia River won the state title, scoring 169.150.
