High school sailing teams meet

The North Kitsap High School and Kingston High sailing teams will host meetings for any interested students next week.

The NKHS group meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 4 in the school's brand new commons area.

The KHS team will meet from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 5 in that school's commons.

Both teams are coed, and no prior sailing experience is required to join.

Lacrosse registration available

Boys in fifth through eighth grades interested in playing lacrosse are encouraged to sign up with the Kitsap Youth Lacrosse Association.

The KYLA is taking registrations through Feb. 7, and practices will begin Feb. 10 at Seabeck Elementary.

Cost is $125 for the season, plus a $5 KYLA membership fee.

NK Community Pool offers swim lessons

Swim lessons are now available at the NK Community Pool. Preschool and Kindergarten classes begin this week and run between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Evening swim lessons are open for registration as well, and classes begin at 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m. Class dates are Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. Saturday classes are also available. Call 598-1070 for more information and to register.
