Bucs win league tourney | Boys soccer

KINGSTON — The Kingston Buccaneers won the Olympic League Tournament May 14 after a shootout with the Sequim Wolves at Buc Field.

The game was 0-0 in regulation play. It stayed 0-0 through overtime.

When it came to penalty kicks, though, the Bucs prevailed. They outshot the Wolves 4-1.

The win means they are the tournament champions and advance to the district playoffs as the No. 1 seed.

The Bucs play Franklin Pierce at 2 p.m., May 17, at North Kitsap Stadium. The Wolves play Sumner at North Kitsap Stadium at noon.

The North Kitsap Vikings, who shared the league title with the Bucs, take the No. 4 seed into the playoffs.

The Vikings had a bye into the league tournament, but lost 2-1 to the Wolves, May 12, and lost 1-0 to the Klahowya Eagles, May 14.

The Eagles, who played three tournament games, including a loser-out game, take the No. 3 seed into the playoffs.

The Vikings play Foster at Renton Memorial Stadium at 2 p.m., May 17.

The Eagles play Orting at Franklin Pierce High School at 5 p.m.

Of the 10 teams in the West Central District 2A playoffs, five advance to state.
