POULSBO — With a 3-1 victory over the Port Angeles Roughriders Sept. 24, the North Kitsap Vikings successfully defended their home court and undefeated record.
North Kitsap's Sarah Holt led with nine kills, six digs and three aces.
A key factor in the Viking's success so far is that they are serving at more than 96 percent as a team, North's head coach Tim French said.
The Vikings have lost one set during League play. The team was able to fight through a few mistakes, especially on receiving serves and bounce back, in its last four matches, according to French.
"Port Angeles really pushed us," French wrote to the Herald. "They are a very good defensive team and battled for every point. "It was good to get a win while not playing as close to our potential as I would like."
The Vikings travel to Kingston to play the Kingston Buccaneers, Sept. 26 at 6:15 p.m.
Final: NK 3, PA 1
