KINGSTON — The Thursday night game between the Kingston Buccaneers and Klahowya Eagles ended in a shootout at Buccaneer Field.

Tied 1-1 at the end of regulation, the Eagles fought for a road win Sept. 19. But the Eagles came up short after Kingston's Tori Lofontaine put in the final shootout goal to end the game.

The Eagles have not had a win at Buccaneer Field in the past three season, according to Kingston head coach Craig Smith.

The Bucs struck first during the Thursday night game, when Rebecca Tafte scored a low-crossing goal with an assist by Kelly Nash in the 31st minute.

Up 1-0 in the second half, the Eagles tied the game on a corner kick with 10 minutes left in regulation.

Kingston goal keeper Emma Keeling had 10 saves to hold the Eagles into sudden death.

The shootout went to the 10th player on each team. The Bucs shot six goals to the Eagles' five.

The Bucs are now second in the Olympic League with a 4-0 record. The North Kitsap Vikings hold first place.

The Bucs travel to North Mason Sept. 24. They then face the first-place Vikings Sept. 26 on Buccaneer Field.
