POULSBO — Two swim teams that share a pool all season long were an even match when they went head-to-head Jan. 24.

The Kingston Buccaneers and North Kitsap Vikings tied during the last meet of the regular season in the North Kitsap Community Pool. The final score was 85-85.

The Vikings trailed 81-75 after the 100 Breaststroke. With only the 400 Free Relay left, the Vikes earned a first and third place finish, enough to boost the team's score to 85. With the Bucs scoring four points during the 400 relay, the tie was made.

The Bucs led the meet from the start, which began with a first and third finish during the 200 Medley Relay.

The two teams now prepare for the Olympic League meet Jan. 29 in Port Angeles. The league meet precedes the West Central District III meet, which begins Feb. 8 with prelims at Hazen High School Pool, 1101 Hoquiam Ave. NE, Renton.
