POULSBO — All sports and practices are cancelled in the North Kitsap School District today, Dec. 21.

Schools in the district, which were scheduled for a furlough (half-day), were closed due to weather and road conditions in the morning. Because of the short day, district spokeswoman Jenn Markaryan said there would be no reason for a two-hour delay.

During a furlough day, high school and Poulsbo Middle School classes end at 10:45 a.m., Kingston Middle School classes end at 10:55 a.m., elementary classes end at noon, and half-day kindergarten and preschool end at 11:55 a.m.

The Kingston Buccaneers and North Kitsap Vikings basketball teams were scheduled to play tonight.

A benefit dance for Ian Gunnell following the boys basketball games at North Kitsap HIgh School is also cancelled.
