SUMNER — The Kingston Buccaneers are in the State tournament for the first time in school history after their 40-37 win over the Washington Patriots.

The Bucs are now preparing to play the Sumner Spartans in the first round of the 2A State tournament.

The Bucs and Spartans go head-to-head Nov. 9 at Sunset Stadium, 901 Valley Avenue, Sumner. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

Sumner earned a State berth after defeating the North Mason Bulldogs 38-13, Nov. 3. The win denied the Bulldogs a State appearance and stopped a 2-game winning streak.

Prior to their victory over the Bulldogs, the Spartans gave up an average of 16.8 points per game.
