November 2, 2012 · 10:40 AM

The top 2A football teams in the West Central District compete today for a shot at the state championships.

The Kingston Buc-caneers and North Kitsap Vikings football teams are in the district tournament.

With their 40-7 win over the Port Angeles Roughriders Oct. 26, the Kingston Buccaneers secured the No. 2 seed into the playoffs.

The Bucs play Washington High School tonight at North Kitsap Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

The Vikings, who tied the Bucs 5-2 in league play, took the No. 3 seed into the playoffs. The Vikings travel to Steilacoom High School for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Because the Vikings lost 31-27 to the Bucs during the “Pillage and Plunder Bowl” Oct. 19, they were denied a home playoff game.

The following are the 2A schools in the Puget Sound area competing for a shot at State (kickoff for all games is 7 p.m.):

—Kingston hosts Wash-ington (North Kitsap Stadium).

—North Kitsap at Steilacoom.

—Lake Washington at Burlington-Edison.

—Squalicum against Archbishop Murphy (Everett Memorial Stadium).

—Sedro-Woolley against Lakewood (Lake Stevens High School).

—Sultan at Lynden

—Renton against Bremerton (Silverdale Stadium).

—North Mason against Sumner (Sunset Chev Stadium).

—Orting against Lindbergh (Renton Stadium).
