Two north end residents top men's full marathon

POULSBO — Of the 67 people participating in the full marathon Oct. 14, Keyport's Mark Cook and Poulsbo's Gilbert Ondusko topped the charts in the Poulsbo Marathon.

Cook, running in the 30-39 age group, finished the 26.2-mile run in 3 hours, 10 seconds.

Ondusko, in the 40-49 age group, finished in 3:06:32.

The marathon, now in its third year, had a total of 512 registered runners. 2012 Poulsbo Marathon top finishers


Women: 1, Shelaine Dolce (Renton), 3:32:7; 2, Laura Spears (Belfair), 3:53:03; 3, Brittani Webb (Bremerton), 3:54:40.

Men: 1, Mark Cook (Keyport), 3:00:10; 2, Gilbert Ondusko (Poulsbo), 3:06:32; 3, Matt Bryant (Puyallup), 3:23:45.

Half (13.1 miles)

Women: 1, Liz Starks (Poulsbo), 1:33:05; 2, Kelsi Canavan (Silverdale), 1:33:37; 3, Laura Springer (Bainbridge Island), 1:37:45.

Men: 1, Glen Weissman (Bellevue), 1:22:26; 2, Jason Matta (Poulsbo), 1:22:40; 3, Greg Ryding (Poulsbo), 1:27:05.

10K (6.2 miles)

Women: 1, Sara Newell (Gig Harbor), 48:46; 2, Michelle McCarty (Poulsbo) 49:44; 3, Corinne Sterneckert (Bremerton), 50:04.

Men: 1, Nick Cameron (Poulsbo), 40:09; 2, Jonathan Erickson (Poulsbo), 44:03; 3, Brian Ramey (Poulsbo), 47:56.
