Kitsap Derby racer takes fifth at national event

AKRON, Ohio — Danielle Bosch of Allyn was the sole medalist of the handful of Kitsap Soap Box Derby racers who competed July 21 at the 75th All-American Soap Box Derby.

Bosch finished fifth in the Rally Super Stock division. She finished behind Michelle Strand, Sam Fehrman, Franklin Ludwig and first-place finisher Nick Zimmerman.

Other Kitsap Soap Box Derby racers included Poulsbo’s Anthony and Jake Poggi and Silverdale’s Bryanna and Jaimie Barry.

The Kitsap derby races are held on Dauntless Drive in Poulsbo, next to College Marketplace.

The next races are Aug. 18-19. Registration is open to ages 7-17.

Membership in the Kitsap Soap Box Derby Association is $25. Race fees are $40 per day for non-members and $35 per day for members.
