NK Babe Ruth 14U win state championship

PORT ANGELES — The 14-year-old Babe Ruth All-Stars are on their way to the regional finals in Oregon.

The team will represent North Kitsap as the Northern Washington State Champions after clinching their division in Port Angeles last weekend.

This is the first time in eight years that the 14U team has made a regionals appearance.

The team will be fundraising for travel expenses, which are significant. A car wash is scheduled for today and Sunday at Striebel’s Gas Station off Highway 104 in Kingston. Donations can also be made to NK Babe Ruth, P.O. Box 17146 Poulsbo 98370, Attn: 14U Regional All-Stars.

The team consists of Chase Bauer, Joe Creason, Cameron Dubos, Jarod Felix, Conner Green, Robbie Kessler, Joe Kunesh, Nate McCown, Kole Milyard, Ben Pouliot, Joey Regan, Marcelo Sanchez, Christian Tom, Grayson Woolever and Adam Wright. They are coached by Eric Milyard, Dave Green, Chris Sanchez and Kelly Wells.

Regionals are Aug. 1-6.

The team will play for a possible berth in the 14-year-old Babe Ruth World Series, which will be held in Murray, Utah Aug. 18-25, according to the Babe Ruth League website
