NK Cheer tops at cheer camp

The NK Cheer Squad won multiple awards during the NCA Cheer Camp at Western Washington University, June 30 to July 3.

BELLINGHAM — The NK Cheer Squad returned from the NCA Cheer Camp at Western Washington University with multiple team and individual awards, June 30 to July 3.

The team took first place in the Quest Routine, won the NCA Spirit Award, and earned a spot in the NCA National Competition.

Meghan Ottomano, the team captain, and Lauren Large’ were named to the All-American team.

Kate Borek, Mikaila Conklin, Amanda Moreno and Ottomano earned Top Gun Stunt Team. Brandon Girkin and Kelcee Chorba earned Top Gun Co-ed Team.

The team is discussing the possibility of attending Nationals in Texas if enough funds are raised, according to Deb Ottomano.
