NK’s Crabtree seeks fifth; KHS’s Turner, McNurney out | Girls tennis

TACOMA — Of the three singles players from the North Kitsap School District competing in the West Central District III tournament, North Kitsap’s Sydney Crabtree is the only one who remains.

Kingston’s Austen Turner and Becca McNurney were eliminated May 12.

Crabtree will face White River’s Courtney Hall Saturday for a shot at a fourth-place finish in the tournament. If she wins, she plays either Quinn Osborn from Lindbergh or Autumn Jacobson from Sumner.

McNurney was eliminated from the tournament after a loss to Evergreen’s Cecilia Vu 6-1, 6-1 and a loss to Hall 6-2, 6-1.

Turner was eliminated after defeating White River’s Taylor Wombacher 6-1, 6-3 and losing to Klahowya’s Tracy Landram 6-0, 6-0 and Jacobson 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
