Soccer: Kingston has 2-2-2 record after March 22 victory
March 23, 2012 · 10:48 AM
SEQUIM — In a game that was 0-0 at halftime, the Buccaneers boys soccer team finished with three goals against Sequim Thursday night.
Kingston's Cody Sweeney broke the tie in the 48th minute with a 20-yard shot into the Wolves' goal. The goal was assisted with a free kick from Ross Burk (defense). Having fought for the first goal, the entire team was in the air, according to coach Craig Smith.
Nick Boles earned the second goal of the game in the 61st minute from an assist from Sweeney. The last Kingston goal to finish the night was made by Simon Campo from 35 yards off a pass from Daniel Casey.
Kingston was coming off two losses — Bainbridge and Bremerton — and had a team meeting on the bus up to the game Thursday night, according to Smith. It looks like the meeting worked, as the Bucs defeated the Wolves 3-0.
Kingston boys soccer (2-2-2) is back on the map, Smith said.
The team has 11 goals for and five against in the season.
The team's next game is March 26 at 6:45 p.m., followed by a home game against Port Angeles March 29. The game against PA is the team's first Olympic League game.
