North Kitsap girls fall two games behind Bremerton after Tuesday's loss
Above, the North Kitsap and Bremerton high school girls basketball teams faced-off in the North Kitsap High School Gymnasium Jan. 10.
POULSBO — The first half of the girls basketball game between the North Kitsap Vikings and Bremerton Knights was a close race.
The Vikings fell behind by a single point in the first quarter and a total of four points by the half. By the time the game reached the fourth and final quarter, however, the Knights looked like an entirely different team. The Knights outscored the Vikings 30-13 in the fourth; between Bremerton's Courtney and Jalen Carpenter and Sawyer Kluge, more than 50 points were scored.
The game ended 76-50, Bremerton.
With the loss, North Kitsap stays in third place in the Olympic League, Bremerton sticks with second and Kingston High School leads with an 8-1 league record.
Kingston held its spot in first after a 54-49 win over Olympic High School Tuesday. The team, lead by Amanda Carper with 18 points, is one game ahead of Bremerton (7-1).
