Crowds cheer the finishers in the Viking Fest Road Race, Saturday, on Front Street in downtown Poulsbo. More than 800 runners competed in the event's 5-Mile and 1-Mile runs.
Jim Savage had a good read on the competition by the second mile. He started passing other runners who had started off at a faster pace, and he soon had a lead that he never yielded.
