On behalf of the entire Kingston High School Buccaneer Band, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us on our journey in the KZOK Battle of the Bands. It was thrilling to watch Kingston climb the ranks, passing by schools over twice our size, to end up with the second highest popular vote in the competition. Our students are incredibly thrilled with their performance, an even more amazing feat when you consider that we are only in our third year of existence. We wouldn’t have been able to reach this goal without the help of our amazing community. The North Kitsap community has long been a strong supporter of music in our schools, which can be seen in the quality music programs around the entire district that have been present since long before I was a student in this district in the late 90s. We are lucky to be surrounded by a community that has embraced us from the get-go, allowing us to create many memories as we begin to build a strong music tradition at KHS. Thank you again for all of your support in helping the Kingston Music Program become what it is today.
