Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi recently submitted a million-dollar bill for Congress’s trip to Copenhagen to talk about climate change. To my surprise, Rep. and Mrs. Jay Inslee were on the list of attendees. I called Inslee’s Washington office to confirm Mrs. Inslee’s trip and to inquire if Inslee had personally paid for her trip. The office staffer stated that he did not know the answers, but would take my message and get back to me.

Within a week, I received an email from Inslee thanking me for my interest in climate change blah, blah, blah. It was a form letter which did not even begin to answer my questions. This happens all of the time. Form letters are sent which are useless to anyone who is trying to gather the facts; in reality, they are simply smokescreens.

Did Mrs. Inslee go on the trip to Copenhagen? Who paid for her trip?

I hope that others will contact Inslee and insist on responsible, factual answers.
