They got the cold shoulder from Appleton

My wife and I certainly empathize with Evelyn Baker of Poulsbo. In her letter published Jan. 22 she expressed her frustration in getting very arrogant responses from Sherry Appleton regarding Ms. Baker’s position regarding budgets and taxes.

At least Ms. Baker got responses. From January 2008 to January 2009 we sent three letters and one email to Appleton regarding our difficulties with property taxes. Our third letter was hand delivered (put in her hand by me). We did not receive the courtesy of a single reply. Finally, after sending an email to Frank Chopp (House Democratic Leader) requesting his help in getting a response from our representative, we received a short email from Appleton’s office in March 2009. That response said that Appleton refused to reply to my questions regarding taxes due to my “aggressive/confrontational manner when speaking to Rep. Sherry Appleton in person.” I guess I forgot to bow.

So, Ms. Baker, be happy that you at least received a response. Some of us do not get such a courtesy.
