Steve Jobs and Bill Gates once discussed the qualities needed for strong leadership. Five of the characteristics are being goal oriented, optimistic, courageous, tolerant and having strong internal motivation. Kathryn Quade has consistently demonstrated all of these characteristics. Strong leadership integrates the citizens into the political process. Strong leadership is diplomatic, understanding of different points of view, is supportive of and instrumental in the reestablishment of the Marine Science Center. Our mayor needs to be able to work and empathize with the various diverse elements of our growing community, to be a team player. The choice is clear. Vote for Quade. And for those people who are still upset about City Hall – remember, it was the council’s decision and it was unanimous. Quade didn’t even vote.
