Reader feedback: Who is Jack Hamilton?

Who is Jack Hamilton and what is the purpose of his column in the newspaper? As far as I can discern, he is using the North Kitsap Herald as his personal blog. What is his background, what are his credentials and what is his standing that we should give any credibility to whatever he says? He certaintly doesn’t back up anything that he writes about with facts of any kind. Is this supposed to be some sort of folksy local color for the paper? I’m not sure that Jack’s personal comments deserve a weekly forum. His column is going to require readers of the paper to refute his personal opinions every week — how tiring. Who is Jack Hamilton and what are his qualifications to write an opinion column?
