Letters to the Editor

Bring back police, sheriff reports

We are sorry to see that the police and sheriff’s reports have again been omitted from the Herald. This is hopefully only temporary.

The reports are very useful to us seniors by identifying areas where we should exercise caution.

Or is our editor being pressured by special interests to eliminate the police reports?

An editor’s first responsibility should be to the readers — not the special interests.

So, please be brave and bring back the police and sheriff’s reports as you did several months ago. Why did you stop?

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Hans Jacobsen

Editor’s note: The Police Calls and Sheriff’s Log were held because of space devoted to election coverage. They are back in the Nov. 15 edition on pages A12-13.
