Letters to the Editor

Coffee Oasis employee is a winner

The North Kitsap Herald recently published a letter written by Ron Hirschi regarding the emotional devastation caused by a thief who stole his wife’s purse in the few seconds she turned to help another person (“Reward offered for theft of belongings,” page A7, April 19 Herald). The thief had all her personal information, house key, car keys, checkbook, credit cards — what a violation!

In direct contrast, just days before, my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch and great service at Coffee Oasis while our dog waited patiently outside for us to return. We left rather hurriedly to get back to her. I had no clue I had left my purse in the restaurant.

The sweet, young lady working behind the counter ran outside looking for me. The look of concern changed to that of happy relief when she was able to return my purse to me.

Interesting contrast — one runs to do the right thing and has peace, the other just runs away like a frightened cat.

Thank you, dear young lady. Coffee Oasis staff and your family must be proud of you. You are a winner!

Christi Ryan
