Norwegian helmets didn’t have horns

Regarding the Viking statue recently unveiled in the Poulsbo Junction area, I’d like to first compliment the artist on his work.

However, it incorrectly portrays the Norwegian Vikings, since these people did not wear helmets with horns. From what I’ve been told, that was a German thing.  But just like the 67 percent of the people I asked who didn’t know Dec. 7 was Pearl Harbor Day, most people won’t know the difference about the Viking either.
