Supports Hansen for state representative

I voted for Drew Hansen for state representative and hope you will too.

In a 30-year career in local government, in both staff and elected positions, I’ve had the good fortune to work with thousands of local elected officials and hundreds of legislators. In his first term as state representative, Drew Hansen ranks up there with the very best of them.

Drew has helped job-training programs at Olympic College. He supports a great educational system. He’s focused on building the economy. He led the effort to save Kitsap taxpayers millions in our efforts to acquire 7,000 acres of forestland for future generations in North Kitsap.

These are all examples of what Drew has done and show that he produces results. They give us confidence that he will be equally effective on our behalf in the future.

Most important to me are Drew’s values and character. I’ve watched Drew and I’m impressed. Drew reaches out to his constituents for information, he listens carefully to us, he develops partnerships and then he delivers results. Drew’s outreach, openness and responsiveness are refreshing. Whatever issues arise in the future, I have confidence that Drew will work with us to find the right solutions.

My name is Henning B. Larsen and I recently had the pleasure of getting to know state Rep. Drew Hansen while on the campaign trail. I can honestly say that it is a rare thing to meet a legislator as impressive as Rep. Hansen.

A knowledgeable and passionate advocate for his constituents, Rep. Hansen has fought to protect our ferries, our schools and our jobs. Drew understands the needs of Kitsap County and you can trust him to always put your interests first. His record in the Legislature shows his proven ability to work across the aisle, and I have seen personally the balanced and intellectual approach he brings to every issue.

If you want a strong and reasonable voice in the state house, Drew Hansen is the clear choice.

At this time in the political season, I’ve reached my limit. Hearing the campaign rhetoric and attack ads from all sides becomes tedious, even exhausting. I’m eager for a way to cut through all the spin and decide for myself who the right candidate is.

On what criteria do I choose? I want someone who has the ability to be effective. An effective candidate is a person who understands the needs of Kitsap County, knows how to work collaboratively to create solutions for those needs, and can actually implement those solutions. Simple.

When it comes to the race for state representative, the choice is simple.

Drew Hansen.

Drew understands the needs of Kitsap County, he’s focused on creating jobs and supporting our region economically. The best part, this is not just talk, it’s reality. As a first-time representative, Drew got three of his jobs bills passed during the 2012 session, two of which became law. It’s easy to talk about what’s wrong; the hard work and skill comes with knowing what’s right and making that happen.

It’s simple. Please join me in voting for the most effective candidate for the 23rd District, Drew Hansen.

I’ve known Rep. Hansen for a few years now and I appreciate his thoughtfulness and ability to listen before offering solutions.

As a father and husband, he is concerned for the quality of life on the peninsula and the need for environmental common sense to keep this a wonderful place to live.

His thoughts on education and how to fund the paramount duty of the state are at the forefront of his agenda. He has an incredible ability to listen, bringing in all parties and then have them or himself offer real solutions to the problems or concerns of his constituents.

I hope you’ll join me in supporting Drew in his bid to represent us in the state house.

I am writing to whole-heartedly endorse state Rep. Drew Hansen for election to a full term to represent the 23rd District.

Drew’s background on the Olympic College Foundation Board, along with his service on the Community Economic Revitalization Board, provide exactly the kind of hands-on experience that our elected officials need as our state continues to move forward.

Drew has already distinguished himself as a hard-working legislator during his brief tenure. Drew sponsored a bill to help veterans re-enter the civilian workforce, a bill to expand the Olympic College engineering program, and a bill that removed a tax barrier to promote job growth in Kitsap County.

A vote for Drew Hansen is a vote for a capable and proven leader.
