Vote the bums out’ is the appropriate option
October 20, 2012 · 2:14 PM
It is normal for incumbents to showcase their record of accomplishments when seeking election. Not so this year.
None of the incumbent progressive liberals want to talk about their records. Perhaps balancing budgets by transferring funds from various accounts to the general fund or deferring payment on future obligations would not be popular with voters. Maybe overriding initiatives about needed votes to raise taxes might be offensive to citizens. Perhaps addressing gay marriage and legalization of marijuana instead of dealing with education would not be appreciated by the average taxpayer.
Maybe voters might not understand why important work was not accomplished on time and “special” sessions were required. Could it be that citizens and property owners might not consider additional regulation or decisions restricting the use of property as an immediate priority of government?
Maybe those who are out of work and looking for jobs would rather have seen some positive action to bolster the economy rather than promises of what may happen if we reelect people. Seems to me that promises of the past were not kept. We are paying the price, and it is time for change.
“Vote the bums out” seems to be the appropriate option.
