Marriage equality story long proposed

March 5, 2012 · Updated 10:53 AM

I write today to request that you consider a correction for a statement made in the article (“Senate approves gay marriage bill; House review next,” Feb. 2) that indicates that Gov Gregoire “requested” the legislation.

I believe that facts exist indicating that the legislation has been proposed in each of several sessions and that the governor did in 2011 indicate approval. Perhaps there is evidence that I do not know.

There are men and women who believe that citizens have classes and that some citizens are not the equal of others. Some citizens are using the “governor requested” statement to inflame the members of their affinity groups. If they have not the truth, early notice is better than late.
