Don’t forget speech, debate in highlights

January 9, 2012 · 5:17 PM

I was disappointed that you did not include Sydney Allen making Nationals in Speech and Debate, nor her performance at State in the Sports highlights of the year (pages A8-10, Dec. 30 Herald).

Technically, Speech and Debate are considered a competitive sport at the high school level.

Sydney had quite an achievement!

If you don’t like it there, how about highlighting academic and professional achievements in next year’s paper as well? I can think of some pretty impressive things besides Sydney’s accomplishments that some of our kids and adults did.
