I have been a taxpayer in the Port of Kingston since 1986. For two years, I was the “recording secretary” for the Port of Kingston commission meetings.

The “passenger boat” project is obviously outside of the capacity of the port management. I do not want my tax monies going to support this project.

It is unfortunate that taxpayers have to write letters to the editor to have their voices heard by the Port Commission. A survey sent to all Port District residents to understand their opinion would have been appreciated! Instead, a small note in the Herald announced the availability of a survey on the Port website! How many residents participated in that survey?

Mr. Coultas: You have been absolutely correct in attempting to convince the commission to ask the opinion of all residents. Please do!
