I sent a note thanking Brian Olson for the wonderful article (“Learning to triumph on the racetrack and beyond,” June 10 NorthKitsapHerald.com).

As a matter of follow-up, we raced our way to the 2010 AHRMA Production Heavyweight Championship. Thank you for the confidence-building article.

I suffered a crash and some injuries in June; the article reminded me to keep focused and I continued the season. Driving almost 25,000 miles criss-crossing the country was an adventure in itself. Special thanks go out to my wife Stephanie and the builder/crew chief Charlie Barnes.

I will be defending my title in 2011 on the same Triumph and I will also be riding a late-model Honda to gain more track time and experience.
