The North Kitsap Puget Sound Anglers celebrated Veteran’s Day early by hosting a benefit for Harm’s Way, a project that treats wounded combat Veterans to fishing trips in Alaska. I could not possibly be more proud of NKPSA. We are doing a great thing for a very deserving group of Veterans.

I would like to thank everyone for their contributions as donors, sorters, cooks, bar tenders, spotters, taggers, recorders, sidekicks, greeters, collectors, sellers, cashiers, janitors, and bidders. It was truly a remarkable team effort. Most of all, however, I would like to thank the Veterans that make it possible for us to enjoy our way of life!

Together we have raised a remarkable $5,553 so far! There are still donations coming in. If you would like more information, please call me at (360) 638-1488. If you would like to send a check, make it out to NKPSA with “Harm’s Way” on the memo line. The mailing address is: North Kitsap Chapter of the Puget Sound Anglers, P. O. Box 264, Hansville, WA 98340.

By “charging” food (or cash) for bidder cards, we were able to make a very generous donation to the local Food Bank.

There will be no December meeting so that we can spend more time fighting La Nina conditions in search of the elusive Winter Blackmouth. Crabbing will also be open in our area by the time you read this. Make sure you get your Winter Catch Card before you go! We will resume our regular meeting schedule in January.

Happy holidays to all, and to all a good bite!
