General Election: Gabriel is the right choice for PUD

Fifteen years ago when I moved to Kitsap County, one of the first people I met was Linda Gabriel. I was impressed with her communication skills, integrity and willingness to help people.
Since that time we have served on several committees and boards together and I remain impressed with Gabriel. The fact that she is running for public office is an indication of her compassion for the people of this county.
The position of the Public Utility Commission is not highly visible, but the work is very necessary as it involves broadband infrastructure and our most valuable resource, water.
The PUD website tells us that “Kitsap PUD is responsible for water management for Kitsap County. This includes acquisition, management and preservation of this critical and valuable resource. Kitsap PUD owns 56 domestic water systems throughout a service area of over 400 square miles. The largest of these, North Peninsula Water System, has over 4,000 connections. In addition Kitsap PUD provides management services to over 120 other water systems within the county. In all Kitsap PUD provides some level of domestic water service to over 50,000 Kitsap County residents.”
Gabriel will make sure that the tasks designated for the PUD are fulfilled and that the office is transparent for all Kitsap residents. We can trust Gabriel to fulfill the office with skill, knowledge and the best intentions for all of us.
