13 percent may sound minimal to the City Council, however, it is not minimal to seniors on a fixed income or to low-income residents.

I-594 a step toward disarming citizens

Regarding Initiative I-594: Kitsap County Prosecutor Russell Hauge advocates for the initiative’s passage on television. Yet according to the Central Kitsap Reporter, Sept. 16, 2010, it gets difficult to trust Mr. Hauge, as he has pursued legal action against the Kitsap Rifle and Revolver Club, repeatedly attempting to shut down that business.

As a mother, grandmother and person of faith, I am voting for I-594 for expanded background checks for gun purchases and transfers in Washington. I urge others to do the same.

We now have Linda Streissguth, who stepped away from a six-figure job with Puget Sound Energy, bringing to public service decades of management-level experience on issues before our commissioners. Her skills are a valued component of the combined strengths our commissioners must bring to the table.

It’s a simple message: Why change when you’ve already got the best? Linda Streissguth is an excellent county commissioner who works collaboratively and effectively for change. Most importantly, she has everyday commitment and staying power to see things through. Her opponent doesn’t.
