Child gun protections are reasonable

Discussion of I-594 details is now a moot point, however I found Art Ellison’s rejection comments superficial, and questioning of wealthy funders’ intents demonizing and without basis (“I-594: Some things to think about,” page A15, Oct. 31 Herald).

Expect more austerity, not prosperity

About 20 percent of 38 percent of eligible voters, a small minority of Americans, voted for Republican legislators who said our country is moving in the wrong direction. All but the top 2 percent of elitists should prepare themselves not for more prosperity, but for more austerity, as we begin moving in the right direction.

Volunteers improve section of trail at Village Green Park

Thanks to the combined generosity of REI, North Kitsap Trails Association, Logan Hammon of Eglon Landscaping, and some wonderful Bayside Church volunteers, there’s an improved section of trail at Village Green Park in Kingston.
