POULSBO — Kitsap County Superior Court candidate Jennifer Forbes (www.forbesforjudge.com) has been rated as the “preferred” candidate by Kitsap County Bar Association members.

Forbes, a Poulsbo lawyer and judge pro tem, faces Karen Klein of Bainbridge in the Nov. 6 general election.

Forbes has also been rated “Exceptionally Well Qualified” by the Cardozo Society (Washington State Bar Association minority bar for Jewish lawyers in Washington), Joint Asian Judicial Evaluation Committee, Washington Women Lawyers, and the Latino/Latina Bar Association. Visit votingforjudges.org.

In the Aug. 7 primary, Forbes came in a strong first place, besting three other opponents in this open race to replace retiring Superior Court Judge Karlynn Haberly.

To date, Forbes has been endorsed by 34 judges and  more than 100 attorneys.  Forbes’ most recent judicial endorsements include Justice Susan Owens, Court of Appeals Judge David Armstrong, and Court of Appeals Judge Jill Johanson.

Other supporters include Sheriff Steve Boyer, the Kitsap County Municipal Police Chiefs Association, the North Kitsap Herald and the Kitsap Sun.
