SEATTLE — The Veterans Alliance For Security and Democracy has endorsed state Sen. Derek Kilmer for 6th District Congress.
Kilmer, D-Gig Harbor, faces Republican Bill Driscoll, a Marine Corps veteran and Weyerhauser heir, in the Nov. 6 election.
“We are confident Derek Kilmer will be a champion for veterans on Capitol Hill,” VETPAC President Justin Ford said in a press release.
“He’s passed laws to further veterans’ employment, give vets better access to educational opportunities, and ensure that service members’ families are welcomed in Washington state.”
Kilmer won the Legislator of the Year award from the state Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Glen Galbreath Award from the Northwest chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America.
