OLYMPIA — Gov. Chris Gregoire has endorsed Kathleen Drew for Secretary of State.

Drew, a former state senator from Issaquah, is one of seven candidates for Secretary of State in the Aug. 7 primary. The two top vote-getters advance to the Nov. 6 general election.

Gregoire and Drew served together in the 1990s on the state’s Commission on Government Ethics and Campaign Finance Reform. Drew was a co-author of the state’s Ethics in Public Service law, still in effect today.
