POULSBO — The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office is trying to identify a man who was reportedly taking photos with his cell phone of kindergartners boarding a school bus Monday morning.

The Gordon Elementary students were departing on a field trip to a fire station in North Kitsap.

A woman called Gordon's School Resource Officer to report a suspicious man standing in the parking lot taking pictures for about a half hour, said Kitsap County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Wilson.

Gordon Elementary Principal Claudia Alves sent a letter home with her students on Tuesday afternoon to make parents aware of the situation. The letter encouraged parents to talk to their children about strangers and offer safety tips.

The man is described as about 6 feet tall and slim, with gray hair. He was wearing a blue sport coat and gray trousers, Wilson said.
