Poulsbo mobile home fire was intentionally set
April 22, 2010 · Updated 2:42 PM
POULSBO — Investigators believe a fire that destroyed a mobile home off Scandia Road in Poulsbo Wednesday was intentionally set by the home's resident.
Sheriff's Deputy Scott Wilson said the resident, an elderly woman, is being evaluated for possible mental health issues and has not been arrested. The woman was not injured in the fire.
Fire crews arrived at the mobile home court near the intersection of Scandia Road and State Highway 308 shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Flames had already engulfed half of the single-wide trailer, Poulsbo Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Russell said.
The resident escaped the home and suffered only minor smoke inhalation. No one else was in the home when the fire started.
It took firefighters about 15 minutes to subdue the flames.
More details will be posted as they become available.
