A Bremerton man died Monday near Keyport when he fell 35-feet from a tree he was trimming.

Michael S. Pitcher, 30, was unresponsive when found by rescue workers on the 13,000 block of Keyport Road NE at about 5 p.m.

Pitcher's next of kin was notified by the Kitsap County Coroner's Office.

Although Pitcher was wearing a helmet, he landed on his head, according to a statement from Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters from Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue and Navy Region Northwest were called to the scene by a co-worker of Pitcher's.
