Poulsbo Police arrest juvenile following two-hour pursuit

Poulsbo Police arrested a 15-year-old boy on a felony assault warrant near North Kitsap High School, Wednesday, after tracking the boy for more than two hours.

Poulsbo Police Deputy Chief Shawn Delaney said the boy was arrested near the Hostmark Apartments shortly before noon. Police attempted to arrest the boy at North Kitsap High School after receiving a call at 9:38 a.m. The boy fled on foot and eluded officers.

Officers from three agencies helped Poulsbo Police surround a wooded area between Caldart Avenue and State Route 305. A police dog was called in to assist in the search.

Police later pursued the boy across a school sports field and finally arrested him off Hostmark Street.

School activities were not interrupted during the search, North Kitsap School District spokeswoman Chris Case said.
